In a world of instant gratification, Melrose Leather was born from a stubbornness against following the norms and the appreciation for beautiful things that take time, age gracefully and last for generations. I can't recall the exact moment that I fell in love with leather but I do remember being drawn to the look and style of vintage tooled leather work many years ago. I loved the idea that each leather piece could hold so much history and, if properly cared for, could be passed down generation after generation. Over time I began to collect pieces from vintage shops until I decided - why not learn to tool leather myself? So I bought myself a starter kit from Tandy Leather and through a lot of trial, error and Youtube videos, here we are today!

 

Hi there! My name is Holly and I am the owner and maker behind Melrose Leather. I’m a wife and new momma.

Thank you for being here! I began my leather working journey in 2017, just as a hobby during college. I graduated in 2019 with a business degree from University of California, Davis and pursued a career in marketing where I specialized in digital marketing - but, after a few years, I realized my heart just wasn't in it and I needed to get back to the creative outlet that fed my soul which led me to creating this little beauty you've stumbled upon here! I look forward to sharing my passion with you and creating heirloom pieces that can be cherished for your lifetime & hopefully beyond.
